Scope

   Quantum information science is a frontier discipline produced by the intersection of quantum mechanics and informatics, mainly including quantum communication, quantum computing and quantum precision measurement. In recent years, with the rapid development of quantum information science that uses quantum features to process  information, quantum information science has brought new opportunities to many fields, such as sensing, measurement, navigation, communication, basic physics, simulation, and computing new paradigm. This topic aims to focus on the publication of important frontier research or high-quality research in the direction of quantum information science. Research topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Quantum communication
  • Quantum computation and simulation
  • Quantum error correction
  • Quantum metrology
  • Quantum information theory
  • Quantum algorithm

Submission process

       We encourage submissions from all authors whose work fits with the scope of this focus collection. The collection will also feature invited contributions. All focus issue articles are subject to the same review process as regular articles. Authors are invited to contact one of the guest editors, or the journal team directly, to discuss the suitability of their work prior to submission.

      Please submit your article via our online submission form. You should submit the appropriate article type for your submission then choose 'Focus on Quantum Information Science' from the drop-down menu.

Deadline for submissions

    The target deadline for submissions is 31 January 2024 though we can be flexible where necessary. We encourage early submission where possible, as articles will be published on acceptance without being delayed by other papers in the collection.
